"The Fullerton College Foundation is a privately endowed non-profit foundation and we have just completed a very successful scholarship award season.  This is our 55th consecutive year of awarding scholarships, grants and loans to Fullerton College students.

In total, the Foundation awarded over $250,000 in scholarships and grants to 300 students including local high school graduates, School of Continuing Education graduates and continuing and graduating/transferring Fullerton College students.  These scholarship awards go to students pursuing academic degrees as well as Career Technical Education certificates and degrees.

We provide financial support to students pursuing Associate in Arts degrees, students transferring to CSUF, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCI and many other 4 year institutions as well as students pursuing certificates and degrees in welding technology, printing, theatre arts, construction, automotive, Police Academy and many other career opportunities.

Our scholarship awards include approximately $150,000 in Foundation funds with the remaining funds coming from grants from local corporations and private foundations including Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Co., The Boeing Corporation, the Wilson Phelps Foundation, the Bernard Osher Foundation, The Fullerton Kiwanis Foundation, the Beckman Coulter Foundation and the Waltmar Foundation.

The Foundation utilizes a state-of-the-art online scholarship management system that allows the students to apply once and be considered for all of our scholarships.  The Foundation’s scholarship committee, along with over 70 College faculty and staff, spends many hundreds of hours reading and scoring the over 650 student applications.  Once the scoring is completed the committees then meet to award the individual scholarships based upon the criteria set by our donors.

We’re very proud of the efficiency and fairness of our application and award process and to the campus-wide involvement of the Fullerton College Faculty and staff.   We greatly appreciate the support that we receive from the College and from President Dr. Rajen Vurdien."
