AMATYC Competition Awards
This scholarship is for one or more continuing students who show talent below the level of calculus. Math department faculty will choose the recipients based on the AMATYC competitive exams.

Betty P. Ribal Award
This scholarship is for one or more students at F.C. who have successfully completed their last semester class in calculus. The award shall be given to such students based on his/her GPA at the discretion of  the appointing committee. This committee shall consist of instructors in the Mathematics and Computer Science Division.

David E. Bell Math Scholarship

This scholarship is for students majoring in math and demonstrating financial need. Selected recipients will be continuing their education at Fullerton College with full-time enrollment. Disbursement will be ½ in Fall and ½ in Spring. Recommendations can be made to the Foundation Scholarship Committee by the Math department

Dr. Samuel Hensley Cortez Scholarship

This scholarship award is made to honor Dr. Samuel H. Cortez, who came to Fullerton with his wife Elsie Yates Cortez in 1934. After serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy during WWII, he returned to his post as Professor of Physics. He died in 1957. The endowment was established by his three children, Patricia Cortez Bertelli, Karen Cortez Klaustermeyer and Dr. Douglas Hensley Cortez.

This award is made to top FCC students majoring in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics/Computer Science with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and carrying a course load of 12 units or more. The award is based on academic achievement first and financial need as secondary factor. The awardee must be in their second year of study at FCC, completed the first year courses in their chosen major, and planning to transfer to a four-year college or university. The award is available only to US Citizens and without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, gender, or sexual orientation.

The recommendations for the award shall be made by the Scholarship Committees of the Engineering, Physical Sciences, and/or Mathematics/Computer Sciences Department.

Gus Klentos Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating or transferring full-time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who has worked more than one semester in the FC Math Lab and must be recommended by a Math Lab staff member or Math Lab supervisor.  The Math and Computer Science Division Awards and Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipient.

Wilbur & Ellen Selfridge Memorial Mathematics Scholarship

This scholarship for one or more women excelling in mathematics who have been enrolled at F.C. for two years and have completed the requirements for upper-division standing at an accredited four-year college or university. The scholarship shall be awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement. A representative of the Selfridge family shall be a member of the selection committee, which will recommend through the Chairman of the Mathematics and Computer Science Division.
